Change of Course: Android Smartphones / Kurswechsel: Android Smartphones

Since smart phones with Android are more popular and I own myself one since a week, the new plan is to develop Project Persocom for Android Smartphones as a App and/or a Widget. The only problem is i don't know Java, i must learn it.

A smart phone have the size of Display that I had in mind as i start the project. And the idea to develop the Project for this grows already in the last months.

Seit Smart Phones mit Android immer beliebter werden und ich selbst eines seit einer Woche besitze, sieht der Plan nun so aus das Project Persocom für Android Smart Phones als App und/oder Widget umzusetzen. Das einzige Problem ist nur, dass ich noch kein Java kann und ich es daher erst erlernen muss.

Ein Smart Phone hat genau die Bildschirm Größe, die ich in meinem Kopf hatte als ich das Projekt startete. Und die Idee das Projekt dafür zu entwickeln wuchs bereits über die letzten Monate hinweg.

Can't say that at the moment, but later of course there can be a ipod/iphone version too. I'm not a apple user, so i have no mac and no ipod/iphone.

Would be nice, I'll buy the Samsung Galaxy S II when it'll be released in Germany !! So I would like to test your Smartphone-Chii on my Phone =)

Ok, i must say what i mean with this News: i will do the Project Persocom for Smartphone, not only Chii. But it can be that Chii is the first Step to learn to develop for Android Smartphones.

After all, the Project is not only for one device. So if you have Project Persocom on your Android Smartphone, you can watch over your PC functions and can control it, when Project Persocom is installed there too and is linked with your Smartphone version.

So the target Platform is still your PC, to control it. The Android Smartphone Version is more a Client to show the Persocom and his Output to the User, but truly with his own features.

I'm new here and because there are no current news about your project I really want to know how it's going on. If you need any help just ask.

I had Java last year in my school but didn't unterstand it that well because of my awesome teacher =)
But I could help you for male voices in german and in english, too. Translation shouldn't be a problem either.

I hope your project is still going on. I would very appreciate the release of that persocom =)

PS: Deutsch ist für mich absolut kein Problem. Ich dachte mir nur, ich bleibe gleich beim Englischen, da das Thema ja schon in englisch verfasst wurde =)

The truth is, the project is as good as dead. It is not that i don't want to make it, but it is now too big for me to handle it.

I looked Chobits last Weekend (DVDs) and after i finished it i thought again about the project. The idea at the news is still great, because you can have your persocom still on your side, but it is too much work when i also must learn the programming language and i not have the time/patience to build a team around it.

What i can do is working on Chii V2.0 for Windows. Its simpler and i could learn new helping stuff without too much work and than i could think again about the big project. I think little small steps to the goal are better as big once that let you quickly stumble.

P.S. dafür ist englisch für mich immer wieder eine Herausforderung. ^^

Oh, that's really sad. Actually I have my last year at school and after I passed the exams I have enough time to learn a little bit of programming. It's also my goal to study/learn a job with programming. Therefore I need some time till I can support you at progamming ^_^

I do unterstand your point and it's difficult to get a real team around you.
I really appreciate your idea of improving Chii to 2.0 =)
Maybe in a few time there are enough people who want to fulfill your idea. If there are enough people it's that much easier to do.
I really hope for that and if there are more news about that idea just write it on your page. I'll check it from time to time
